For the subject referred to in Fig. 2, Fig. 3, and Fig. 9, EEG data were analyzed using the pharmacokinetic parameters shown in Fig. 3, together with the model shown in Fig. 10. Nonlinear regression yielded KEO = 4.95/min, or t1/2KEO = 0.14 min. The relation between midazolam concentrations at the presumed effect site versus EEG change now fits a kinetic–dynamic model consistent with Eq. 7.
