| A video movie showing Ca2+ excitability within a 14 day old astroglial primary culture from newborn rat cerebral cortex. The cells are loaded with the Ca2+ binding probe Fluo-3. Mechanical stimulation of one cell in the centre of the image induces a Ca2+ transient in that cell. A Ca2+ wave is initiated which spreads in all directions from the stimulated cell. |
