Serotonin depletion
was produced utilizing the amino acid drink without tryptophan. Catecholamine
depletion was produced utilizing 5 grams of alpha methyl paratyrosine
given over 30 hrs. prior to Hamilton depression ratings. Relapse was defined as a greater than 50% increase
in Hamilton depression rations and a score greater or equal to 18.
